Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Planning consultants have a big role in the realization of green building (GB), because the implementation of GB not only requires an understanding of how project construction management should be carried out but also thinks about how the project planning process accommodates environmentally friendly principles must be carried out. Such development methods are known by various terms such as sustainable development, eco-design, eco-friendly architecture, environmental architecture; natural architecture. This study aims to explore: (1) public knowledge about GB and related regulations issued by the government and (2) the extent to which the participation of planning consultants is needed to help promote GB to the wider community. This study uses data collected from the results of journal reviews of related research results. Data analysis was conducted based on a literature study. The results of the study: (1) Barriers to the implementation of GB in Indonesia are caused by the lack of knowledge about GB. Although GB has been set on the government's agenda to maintain environmental sustainability, without being followed by socialization about GB the results are not optimal. The impact of the lack of socialization is the cause of the emergence of misunderstandings about GB. (2) To accelerate the spread of GB, planning consultants have access to take part in promoting GB to owners and the general public, for the sake of eliminating misunderstandings about GB.
