The corporate social responsibility: an environmental and ecological justice paradigm

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a voluntary business practice that promotes social and environmental responsibility. Some countries mandate CSR by law, while others adopt it voluntarily. It has evolved beyond balancing corporate and societal interests to focus on sustainability and environmental protection. However, global CSR faces challenges such as misconceptions, inconsistent standards, and limited involvement from governments, businesses, and society. CSR policies should address environmental and ecological concerns, it is no longer solely about gaining equity for both the environment and society but also about preparing and protecting nature for sustainable development. The study examines global CSR regulations, showing varied applications across countries. By integrating environmental and ecological perspectives, CSR policies can address disparities between human and non-human entities to enhance global impact. The research suggests a government-led framework to standardize CSR policies, aligning them with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reducing misconceptions around the world. Using a normative method, the author reviews previous literature as primary data to analyze the problem and provide recommendations for future research. This writing aims to provide an understanding of the global concept of CSR through the environmental and ecological justice paradigm, illustrate the importance of CSR's impact on society and the environment, and suggest a role for the government that involves stakeholders in creating an ideal CSR policy framework based on transnational interests. Moreover, the author hopes that these paradigms will awaken the importance of sustainable development for the CSR policy framework.
