Abstract
The research aimed to examine effectiveness of amelioration on soil fertility using Bokashi and mycorrhizae in order to increase yield of maize and to reduce dose of inorganic fertilizers appliedto maize. The research was conducted in two stages (2013 – 2014). The first year research was conducted to examine effectiveness of Bokashi and mycorrhizae on maize growth and yield. The second year research was conducted to examine effectiveness of Bokashi and mycorrhizae in reducing dose of inorganic fertilizers applied to maize. Result of the research showedthat the increasing dose of Bokashi from 10 t ha-1to 20 tha-1was followed by the increasing growth and yield of maize.However if the dose was increased from 20 t ha-1to 30 t ha-1, there was no significant increase in maize growth. Iintegration of AMF and Bokashi of10 t ha-1resulted in higher yield than using Bokashi solely. On the other hands, the application of ameliorant Bokashi of20 t ha-1and combination between AMF and Bokashi 10 t ha-1were able to reduce the need of inorganic fertilizersapplied to maize for about 50%.
