Precast plate ductility by use fiber reinforced polymer

Abstract

Currently, using precast plates for buildings is increasing because it can significantly speed up development and construction costs. The joint between precast plates is of great concern because it can affect the deflection of the plates and ductility. To solve the structural problems described above, this research will offer a solution by utilizing technological advances in the use of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) material for external reinforcement of structural connections between plates. There are 7 test object types: 1 plate without 40x100 FRP, 2 sample 40x80 plates with FRP, 2 sample 40x100 plates with FRP, and 2 sample 40x120 plates with FRP. The results show that the longer the specimen span, the smaller the ultimate load that can be received and the greater the deflection value. Adding fiber-reinforced polymer in the joints between plates influences a significant ductility value. Plates with the addition of fiber-reinforced polymer experienced a decrease in the ductility value inversely proportional to the span length of the plate.
