Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality standard of Randu Honey in East Java as the main data for the manufacture of sensor devices. The method used observation and laboratory testing of the quality of Randu Honey in East Java consisting of six treatments and three replications. The treatment was Randu Honey which was collected from six different locations in East Java. The parameters of this research are moisture content, total sugar, pH, electrical conductivity, colour intensity, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). The results showed that the quality of honey in East Java contains moisture content between 22.50-25.50%, total sugar between 72.83-75.83% Brix, pH between 3.80-4.33, electrical conductivity between 0.09-0.47 mS/cm, colour intensity L*a*b* between 25.27-27.60, and TOC between 2.70-6.80 mg/L, BOD between 2.40-8.33 mg/L, and TDS between 4.67-10.33 mg/L with graded dilutions. The honey quality test results data became the basis for making sensor devices based on the Arduino Uno Microcontroller.
