Abstract

The knowledge base of Organic food consumption (OFC) has been growing fast in recent years. Various studies addressing motives, barriers, concern towards the environment, health and safety, trust, buying behaviour, risk, and benefits are dominant research areas in the OFC knowledge base. However, there is a lack of bibliometric analysis and visualization on the OFC knowledge base which can provide a holistic quantitative perspective of development since its inception. The aim of the study is to analyse the trend manifested in research literature in the field of OFC through a bibliometric review of the WoS core collection database for the period 1989- 22. Using the bibliometric analytical tool ‘Biblioshiny’ for advanced quantitative analysis, the study identified growth, evolution, influential sources, authors, contributions, collaborations, and science mapping of the OFC knowledge base. The outcome of the study will serve as a precedent for later studies.
