Factors that Influence Independence Learning in Students

The paradigm shift in medicines education becomes Student centre learning has made students must be ready to study independently or Self- Directed Learning Readiness. However, this learning method is often confusing for new students. Therefore, there must be a study of students' self-study readiness at the first level. With the aim to find out the factors that contribute to the readiness of first-degree medicines student self-study. This research uses design cross sectional by making 2018 students of the Faculty of Medicines Swadaya Gunung Jati University as many as 94 samples. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling and data analysis using test spearman. The results showed that some students had a high level of study readiness (80 %), while the results of the vicariate analysis indicate that sex (rs=0,161, P=0,121), status of residence (rs=0,364, P=0,010;), Distance of residence (rs =0,147; P =0,157), independent tutoring (rs=0,017, P=0,168;), have a family member of the Doctor of residence status (rs=0,020, P=0,630;), and Learning Approach (rs = 0.451, P = 0.0001). Factors that contribute significantly to the readiness of first-degree students' independent learning are the status of residence and the Learning approach.
