Abstract
The use of technology in the production process of albumin is necessary to improve the quality and quantity of the products. A single-phase induction motor is one of the technologies that could be benefit for the process, however, the use of those motors also has the disadvantage of the difference in stator spin speed with rotor or slip speed which is difficult to control. To solve the problem, this study presents the performance of low energy inverter on a single-phase induction motor. The inverter output in the form of pure sine waves was obtained with an AC voltage of 220V and a frequency of 50 Hz. Input voltage in the induction motor was directly proportional to the resulting spin speed. The value of the input and output power increased along with the increase in the applied load. The induction motor efficiency value of approximately 49% was achieved for the extract and pasteurization process. Comparison of electric energy usage of a single-phase induction motor using inverter was lower by 0.0079 kWh compared to the one without inverter, therefore, energy saving of more than 20% was obtained for the albumin production process.
