Abstract
Efficiency of land use can be done by improving cultivation methods such as the use of intercropping cropping systems. This study is a setting pattern of planting between shallots and chilies. The aims of this research are 1. To analyze the efficiency of solar energy received in each cropping pattern. 2. Analyze the value of land use efficiency for yields in each cropping pattern. 3. Analyze the value of farming to obtain cropping patterns that produce high economic value. The design used was a randomized block design. It consisted of 8 treatment combinations which were repeated 4 times. The treatment combinations were as follows: 1. Monoculture shallots 20 x 20 cm (P1), 2. Overlapping distances in rows of large chilies 40 cm planting time 20 HST (P2), 3. Spacing in rows of large chilies 40 cm during planting 30 DAP (P3), 4. Overlapping distances in rows of Large Chilies 60 cm at Planting time 20 DAP (P4), 5. Overlapping distances in rows of Large Chilies 60 cm during Planting times 30 DAP (P5), 6. Overlapping distances in rows of Large Chilies 80 cm Planting time 20 DAP (P6), 7. Intercropping the distance in rows of Large Chili 80 cm Planting time 30 DAP (P7) and 8. Large Chili Monoculture 40 x 40 cm (P8). This study consisted of 8 treatment combinations which were repeated 4 times so that there were 32 experimental units. The land area of each experimental unit is 2.8 x 1 m. Setting cropping patterns between shallots and chili peppers affects plant growth and yields. Setting the spacing and planting time affects the efficiency of using sunlight. The arrangement of intercropping cropping patterns affects the efficiency of land use and the feasibility of farming.
