Distribution of the Old Individual of Coffea liberica in Kalipuro District: A Preliminary Survey for Coffee Landscape Preservation in Banyuwangi Regency

The study aimed to determine the distribution of old individuals of Coffea liberica in Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi. The old individual of C. liberica inform the history of coffee distribution and provides the numerous potential aspect of coffee future development in Banyuwangi. We explored the population of old individual C. liberica in local agroforestry orchards owned or managed by the local community for more than three generations (>30 years old). The coordinates of old individuals were mapped using GPS Essentials and processed for mapping by ArcGIS. The morphological measurements were conducted to analyze the old tree growth of C. liberica which has a diameter > 10 cm. We measure the width, length, and petiole of the leaf. We found a total of 12 C. liberica gardens with the old individual of C. liberica that were distributed in the Kalipuro District. The average diameter of the trunk was 16.71 cm. C. liberica's average leaf size was 32.51, 14.53, and 2.77 cm for leaf length and width, and petiole length. The mapping of the old individual of C. liberica is important as a preliminary to preserving the coffee landscape in Banyuwangi Regency, especially in Kalipuro District.
