Abstract
In an effort in promoting sustainable communities through enabling Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) human resources management capacities are needed. Enhancing HR practices among SMEs owners in various tourism sectors in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is required, especially during and after Covid-19, to prepare SMEs for the next challenge. This research conducted to investigate the effect of HR capabilities and length of business on HR practices of SMEs owner of three most significant tourist destinations in NTT—Labuan Bajo, Kelimutu Lake, and Bung Karno the Proclaimer's Exile Location—were the subjects of this study. This study used 38 SME owners as respondents and used multiple regression to evaluate the data. The findings of this study are consistent with those of earlier research, which found that HR capabilities have a favorable impact on HR practices. The technical components of HR are not much improved by the operational side of the length of business. It can be concluded that in achieving sustainable communities through SMEs, HR plays a significant role.
