Cutaneous hemangioma in domestic cat: A case report

Cutaneous hemangioma is a benign blood vessel tumor that is usually found on the skin in dogs but rarely in cats. A female domestic short hair cat estimated to be 5 years old was brought to the Teaching Animal Hospital of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Brawijaya on October 29, 2019 presents sneezing, enlarged abdomen, and wounds on the neck and dexter abdomen. The results of the physical examination of the animal were not maintained, looked lethargic with respiration rates, pulses, and body temperature within normal limits. Then performed wound care and antibiotic amoxicillin at a dose of 10 mg/kg PO q12h for 7 days was given but after three months the wound on dexter of abdomen did not heal. Histopathological examination showed that the animal had a cutaneous hemangioma. The therapy carried out was wound care and cefalexin antibiotic at a dose of 15 mg/kg PO q12h. The treatment was planned to remove the whole tumor. However, before the surgery the cat had died.
